Disaster Relief for Western North Carolina
The situation in Western North Carolina (WNC) is apocalyptic. People are in dire need of food, water, diapers, and other emergency survival supplies.
Disaster Relief Donations
If you would like to join us in helping those in Western North Carolina who are suffering in the aftermath of the storm, we are still collecting items here at MPBC. Luca Clemens, who lives and works in Asheville, is coordinating with residents and organizations in Asheville and has compiled a list of the most needed items. Financial Donations through the Disaster Relief Fund
Financial Donations are the number one request and can be used to meet urgent needs more quickly. We have set up a Disaster Relief Fund and hope you will consider donating. Click on the link below and choose "Disaster Relief" from the drop-down menu in the "Fund" box. You may also send or drop off donations in the church office. Make sure to designate that it is for the "Disaster Relief Fund." We are working to determine the best organization to send our resources to that will provide the biggest impact.

Storm Response Information from Mecklenburg Ministries
We’ve relied on many sources for the information below including Charlotte-Mecklenburg Emergency Management, The NC Council of Churches and FORCharlotte among others.
Included below:
- Reliable sources for updates
- Information and resources to share with friends and family in impacted areas
- Ways to donate, ways to help in Western communities
If you have something you would like to add, please email .
National organizations are emphasizing, do not self-deploy. The area cannot maintain both the residents and volunteers – there is not enough water, gas, food or supplies to sustain people just coming in. There are many channels below where you can be of help or support.
CASH to trusted groups on the ground is always most helpful.
If you give THINGS, please give EXACTLY what is being requested and EXACTLY when and where it is REQUESTED. Getting unneeded supplies (or even needed supplies at the wrong place or time) requires local effort that is not available.
