When God promises Abraham and Sarah a child, Sarah laughs.
It sounds impossible. Absurd, even. Yet the story reminds us that God has always made audacious promises to ordinary people and communities. This Sunday, Rev. Dr. Tim Moore invites us to consider what promises and possibilities we may need to reclaim in order to become the people God is calling us to be.
Our Music Ministry will be bringing a joyful and powerful musical celebration for Juneteenth. The Chancel Choir will welcome and collaborate with world-class gospel musicians under the direction of Emma Foster, creating a worship experience filled with energy, reflection, and praise.
This special musical offering honors the moment of emancipation and recognizes its enduring significance on the long journey toward freedom and equality. Through song and shared artistry, we remember, celebrate, and continue the work of justice together.
The program will feature our own Choral Scholar, Emil Foster, alongside his siblings—Emma and Emmett—making this a meaningful and memorable family collaboration.
You won’t want to miss this inspiring morning of music and worship. Immediately following worship, continue the conversation with Rev. Dr. Tim Moore at Sermon Talk Back, where questions, insights, and real-world connections are welcomed in an open and thoughtful discussion.
