Excerpt: The crucifixion of anyone should be the catalyst that get our hearts, minds, bodies, and souls fully engaged in the work of justice and peace. But instead, we’re often consumed in spectacle, living in denial and wishful thinking, imagining, for some crazy reason, that this is not going to happen to us; that we won’t be victims of gun violence; that our children and grandchildren will be spared.
