Making a Splash: Youth Dive Into a New Year
Laughter, sunshine, and plenty of time on the water made for a memorable afternoon as the MPCOV Youth Ministry kicked off a new year together on September 27. Youth, advisors, and parents gathered at the beautiful Lake Wylie home of Magay and Tim Moore for an afternoon of swimming, kayaking, fellowship, and fun.
The gathering provided a wonderful opportunity for everyone to reconnect, welcome new faces, and enjoy time together outside the church walls. With perfect weather and a relaxed lakeside setting, participants spent the afternoon making memories on the water before gathering for a delicious fried chicken picnic.
The event also served as an exciting launch into a new season of youth ministry. During the afternoon, Interim Youth Director Dane Jordan shared his vision for the year ahead, focusing on building community, strengthening relationships, and creating opportunities for meaningful fellowship. Plans include a monthly outing featuring fun activities at local venues or in the homes of church members, giving youth regular opportunities to connect beyond Sunday gatherings.
Weekly youth programming will continue on Sunday evenings from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. in the Youth Hall, offering a welcoming space for middle and high school students to gather, grow in their faith, and build lasting friendships.
If the kickoff event is any indication, the year ahead promises to be filled with adventure, connection, and opportunities to grow together. All middle and high school students are invited to join us as we dive into another exciting year of faith, friendship, and fun!
