What does it mean to be prepared for a world we cannot predict?
From climate change and shifting societies to rapidly evolving technology, we are living through extraordinary change. And like a storm, some of life's greatest disruptions arrive without regard for who we are or what we believe.
In Matthew 25, Jesus tells a parable about preparation, uncertainty, and what it means to be ready for what comes next.
This Sunday, Rev. Dr. Tim Moore begins our new sermon series, Living Through the Apocalypse, with “When the Tornado Strikes.” Together, we'll explore what this ancient parable can teach us about navigating uncertain times and discovering grace along the way.
Preacher's Notes:
When an apocalypse arrives—like a hurricane or tornado—it cares not about your morals or riches or faith. When it arrives, it carries away all that is in its path. Only those who prepared for the storm survive (and not all of them). Grace meets us not when the newlyweds return on the wedding night, but throughout the preparation for the wedding.
Join us for worship at 10 a.m. in person or online.
Immediately following worship, we encourage you to stay for one of the many Spiritual Growth classes available for adults, youth, and children (Godly Play).
