About the Event

All Church

Myers Park Baptist Church is honored to welcome participants in the 2026 Ride for Race Amity from June 17–19. During their time in Charlotte, Heaton Hall will serve as home base for a group of 26 cyclists—11 youth and 15 adults—traveling together on this meaningful journey.

This year’s ride follows the historic Freedom Riders route from Washington, D.C., to Jackson, Mississippi, offering participants an opportunity to reflect on the legacy of the Civil Rights Movement while building relationships across cultures and communities. The Ride for Race Amity is more than a cycling trip—it is a transformative experience centered on connection, understanding, and shared humanity.

While the riders are in Charlotte, the congregation and community are invited to a free program in Heaton Hall on Wednesday, June 18, from 6:30–8:00pm: “Intention vs. Impact: Community Roundtable.” This conversation will be co-facilitated by the traveling youth cyclists and offers a meaningful opportunity for dialogue, reflection, and shared learning. All are welcome to attend.

We invite you to learn more about the ride and its mission by visiting the Riders for Race Amity website.
