Senior Adult Ministry Lunch and Interest Meeting

You are cordially invited to join Rev. Dr. Ben Boswell for an opportunity to discuss the emerging Senior Adult Ministry he is currently working to help establish in our church. Come share all your dreams and visions for what you hope this new ministry will become and meet the members of the new Senior Adult Ministry Planning Team. 

This interest meeting is open to everyone in the congregation who is 55+ and will include lunch for all attendees. There is no cost for lunch, but please RSVP by contacting Carol Cedar by email or at 704.334.7232 x100 so that we can prepare the appropriate amount of food. We hope to see you there! 

Members of our congregation have raised the need for more intentional programming for seniors. Rev. Dr. Boswell has taken it as his personal mission to work with staff and lay leaders to establish a new and robust Senior Adult Ministry for our church. Ben will be working with a team of Senior Adults to plan monthly lunches with the Senior Minister for fellowship, education, relationship building, community, and engagement. These lunches may include speakers, artists, musicians, as well as clergy and staff members to give us all an opportunity to get to know one another better and ask relevant questions related to what’s going on in the life of our church. In addition to the lunches, we may also plan travel trips for Senior Adults and promote the incredibly important work of Eldering that some small groups of our Senior Adults have been engaged in over the last few years.

Our Preliminary Schedule includes gatherings on the following dates:

June 14
July 19
August 23
September 27
October 25
November - We won't have a gathering this month.
December 6
