Welcome Our Room In The Inn Coordinator

I Want to Serve

Opportunity Details

For several years now, Myers Park Baptist Church has worked to be a place of refuge for our unhoused neighbors during the coldest months of the year. As partners with Room In The Inn (RITI), our congregation has seen hundreds of individuals served right here on our campus. For those who may not know, Room In The Inn provides an opportunity for college campuses and congregations of all kinds across the city of Charlotte to commit to providing “a warm, safe place to sleep, three meals (dinner, breakfast and a bag lunch), and transportation back uptown the following morning.” Aside from those who are unhoused having their most basic needs met, those who serve the guests in various capacities have the potential to develop meaningful relationships with, as well as positively impact those who are navigating homelessness.

To better serve those who will be our guests this season, as well as those who desire to be our volunteers, Seth Pilz will be the Coordinator of all things Room In The Inn here at MPBC. Seth is no stranger to our community of faith. He has assisted in several ministry areas across our campus, most recently as an Intern within the Youth Ministry and member of the Chancel Choir. In a recent conversation, when speaking about taking on this role, Seth shared, ‘I’m really looking forward to putting my gifts to work in an area I’m really passionate about.’ In this role Seth will be the primary point of contact concerning Room In The Inn.

The 2023-2024 RITI season will run from Thursday, December 1 to Friday, March 31. If you or anyone you know may be interested in being part of this important work, please reach out to Seth.
