What is MPBC's "North Star?"

Event | Congregational Lunch and Conversation with the Transition Team
Date | September 21
When | Following worship - 11:15 am

In Wonderland, Alice said to the Cheshire Cat, “Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?”
“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat.
“I don’t much care where…,” said Alice.
“Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,” said the Cat.
What is MPBC’s “north star?” Without one, a community of faith may meander through time with no clear path and fail to live up to their potential as a group embodying the portion of the Lord’s Prayer that reads “…your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven.” By the way, that’s a dangerous prayer to pray.
The Transition Team (TT) is working on articulating that “north star” from our most recent congregational conversation. Do we ever reach that “north star?” Absolutely not! Is it a worthy journey? Absolutely yes! Make plans to participate in the next conversation as the TT reports to you what they heard. Additionally, we will point toward the next stopping point in this journey together. This process will be successful only if there is significant participation from you, the members of MPBC. This is your opportunity to have a voice in the future of this great church.
The Team has scheduled future congregational gatherings for October 19 and November 16. I hope you will mark your calendars and plan to bring your best self and your best thinking. I believe, if you listen closely to God and each other (often God speaks to me through another pilgrim), MPBC has a great future.
