Transtion Team is Hard at Work

Your Transition Team (TT) is hard at work. By the way, it’s a great group of intelligent, committed, creative members. They met on Sunday, August 24, for the first time since our congregational conversation around Mission and Purpose. You provided a myriad of statements, images, phrases, etc. based on MPBC’s Covenant. The team is asking a small group of members, facilitated by Mary Miller, to identify three potential mission statements that are tied to and point back directly to the church Covenant. The plan, if things go as they hope, is to send out the list of mission statement options to the congregation via email on September 16, and to share in the September 21 Congregational Conversation following morning worship. At the gathering on the 21st, the team will walk through the list of options and explain “stack ranking.” The congregation will work through their ranking of the options individually and submit their input by September 28. The TT will meet on September 30, to prepare the final tally. They will report the results to the church on October 5. Then, the team plans to move to address “Leadership” at the October 19, Congregational Conversation!
This is a lot of information to digest. However, the TT wants to be as transparent as possible. If you have questions and/or concerns, we encourage you to contact one of the team members. They are as follows: Robin Buck, Carla Hines, Ryan LaPrade, Tammie Lesesne, Mary Miller, Tucker Pearsall, and Sam Slack.
I’m thankful to share this task with these quality leaders!
