Holding & Waiting, OR Lifting & Providing
This is the most critical period in the history of this church in her 83 years.
At this moment, Myers Park Baptist Church has never needed you more. The church needs every member to move into active participation and support.
If you are sitting on the sidelines as a member, or as someone who has considered membership, this church needs you. We need you as a part of our rebuilding. We need your hopes, dreams, longings, and talents for worship, as participants in our educational programs, and as contributors to our outreach ministries.
We need your resources, both personal and financial, to help the church grow and live more fully into the values we espouse in our Covenant.
Holding back and waiting does not help this church recover.
Holding back and waiting will not allow this church to fulfill her mission as a church. It is a passive stance. It can do more harm than good. Waiting, in effect, adds weight, thus a loss of buoyancy.
If you are one of this church’s members who have said or even thought to yourself, “I’m just going to sit back and wait to see if the church can right itself,” please think about that posture. In doing so, ask yourself these questions:
- What am I waiting for?
- Just exactly what do I hope for?
- What do I need?
- What do I expect?
- What do I want?
We ask you to BE the church you want. Reach out in this rich Time of Becoming for Myers Park Baptist Church, and dedicate yourself to full and hearty support, knowing:
You fit here.
You belong here.
You are needed here.
WE ARE THE CHURCH TOGETHER!
