Update On Proposed Bylaws

The Q&A informational meeting on the Bylaws generated thoughtful questions and meaningful discussion. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped the Strategic Planning Task Force (SPTF) clarify both the content and the process behind the proposed Bylaws.

Most of the material in these Bylaws is carried forward from our previous version, and the proposed governance updates were presented to the congregation during the two Transition Team meetings on governance last fall. Strategic Planning has worked hard to communicate these ideas well in advance and to gather feedback from the congregation throughout this process.

By the end of the informational meeting, the consensus was to support moving forward with adopting the new Bylaws. You will find the updated document for your review here: MPBC Bylaws. We will hold a congregational meeting at the end of worship on March 15 to ratify the Bylaws. You will have the opportunity to vote either in person or electronically.

Voting Options 
A brief congregational meeting will be held in the Sanctuary immediately following worship this Sunday, March 15, to ratify the Bylaws. We hope you will plan to attend in person.

For members who are unable to attend, the Board of Deacons has approved an electronic voting option. Members who cannot be present on Sunday, March 15, 2026, may vote online after viewing a video recording of the meeting.

A link to the recorded meeting and online ballot will be emailed to all members shortly after the conclusion of the live meeting (approximately 11:15–11:45am on March 15). Members voting online must follow the instructions in the emailed link and submit their vote no later than 11:59pm on Sunday, March 15, 2026.

NOTE | Electronic votes must be submitted by 11:59pm on March 15, 2026, to be counted.
