A brief congregational meeting will be held in the Sanctuary at the conclusion of worship to vote on the 2026 Budget and approve the Bylaws. We hope you will plan to attend.
In the fall of 2025, the Board of Deacons began the project of studying and drafting Bylaws for the Church. Throughout all of 2025, the Board’s Strategic Planning Deacons continued this work, drawing on the Church’s earlier Blue Book procedures and Governing Documents.
As we drafted these Bylaws, honoring the congregationally led governance traditions and principles on which our independent church was founded, we also hewed to our charge of creating a clear, fair, and succinct structure for the Church’s governance today. In its December 2025 and January 2026 meetings, the Board of Deacons unanimously adopted the new Bylaws that follow here.
With appreciation for your patience and trust, your Board of Deacons welcomes any questions you may have about the new Bylaws, and we now gratefully and proudly present them to you for ratification and adoption.
Please send us any questions you may have about the new Bylaws by Saturday, January 24 at Noon, via email to: election@myersparkbaptist.org. This will allow us time to prepare and provide answers to your questions at the Congregational Meeting.
The Board of Deacons also adopted, for the first time ever, a mechanism for Church Members not able to physically attend the January 25, 2026, Congregational Meeting to vote electronically after viewing a video recording of the meeting.
The video of the January 25, 2026, Congregational Meeting will be provided to all Church Members via an emailed electronic link for watching the Meeting and for voting within a short time following the close of the live meeting on Sunday, January 25 (which should be about 11:15 – 11:45 am on January 25). Those Members not attending the Congregational Meeting in person on January 25 and who wish to vote electronically will need to use this emailed link and follow the easy instructions in it to vote by 11:59 pm that same night, January 25, 2026. Again, if you wish to vote electronically, you must do so on or before 11:59 pm on January 25, 2026.
