What | Sage-ing Social and Uptown Walking Tour

Where | Meet at the Cornwell Center Circle (Roswell side) to board the church bus
Join us for a special Uptown walking tour led by David Furman!
We’ll explore the heart of Charlotte together—stopping for lunch at the 7th Street Market, visiting David’s sculpture studio, walking past exciting new developments like the Carolina Theatre and Charlotte Library, touring McColl Park, and ending with a visit to David’s art-filled penthouse condo, complete with rooftop skyline views.
This promises to be a fun afternoon of art, architecture, community, and beautiful cityscapes—don’t miss it!

Transportation & Meeting Options
Sage-ing participants (age 55+) are invited to ride the church bus. Please register in advance, as seats are limited.
Others may drive or take the light rail:
Meet at the Cornwell Circle on Roswell Road
Or meet at the Old Pineville Road light rail parking lot near Woodlawn Station
You’re also welcome to follow us there so we can all arrive and park together
Light Rail Ride & Art Tour
We’ll ride the light rail together to 7th Street Station, enjoying public art installations by David Furman along the way. Once there, everyone will purchase their own lunch and eat with church friends at the market, where we’ll meet David—our guide for the day.
Walking Tour Highlights
The walk is comfortable and includes stops at:
- David’s sculpture gallery
- Carolina Theatre (optional)
- Charlotte Library (optional)
- McColl Park on the Square
- David’s penthouse condo and rooftop art gallery with stunning views of Uptown
Return Trip
After the tour, we’ll walk to the light rail station on Trade Street and ride back to the Old Pineville Road parking lot.
- Drivers can head home from there
- Bus riders and those traveling with Carol Pearsall will return to the church by 3:00 pm
