CMS Reading volunteers needed for kindergarteners and first-graders for 1 hour a week.

Volunteers are currently being recruited to make a difference in a child’s life by serving as a weekly tutor in the Queen City (QC) Readers program. QC Readers is a collaboration between Read Charlotte and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools created to help kindergarten and first-grade students with reading and comprehension skills that are absolutely essential for learning to read. 

Tutors are asked to sign up for a minimum of 1 hour per week (tutoring 2 students for 20 minutes each) on a consistent day of the week (for example, Monday at the time designated below by the school). All tutors must register at www.cmsvolunteers.com.

All tutoring materials will be provided by the school. Training for tutors will be held at the following location/date:
