Mary Parrish Coley is a North Carolina native who moved to Charlotte in 1997, a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill with a degree in Economics who began her career as a Paralegal, and recently concluded a 26-year career at BB&T/Truist Bank where she served as a Governmental Finance Sales Officer. She is also a member and elder of Covenant Presbyterian where she has served in many different volunteer positions, including on the Session.

In her most recent position at Truist, Mary Parrish established a bank presence in Texas and grew the loan portfolio to $1.3 billion from inception to present. She accomplished this by researching industry standards, networking with public finance professionals including bond attorneys and financial advisors and conducting targeted sales campaigns throughout the state. Three different times, she was named the year’s top loan producer for the department.

In addition, Mary Parrish provided expedited credit decisions for clients by credit review, transaction analysis and pricing recommendations for loan requests utilizing understanding of government fund accounting, financial spreads, relevant market/economic factors, transaction structures, and knowledge of relevant state and federal law. She also developed an extensive network of financial advisors, placement agents, bond attorneys, and other industry professionals resulting in hundreds of lending opportunities annually.

Outside of work and church, Mary Parrish loves sports, reading, baking, and traveling. She’s been to 44 of the 50 states and 5 continents so far.
