We Provide Shelter to Our Neighbors
No one should have to sleep on the streets, and no one should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from. However, this is a reality for more than 7,000 people in the city of Charlotte – many of them with full-time jobs — who find themselves without a stable place to live the majority of the year.
Join us as we host these neighbors for a meal and night of shelter with Room In The Inn or Family Promise. Become involved with one of partner agencies, and help others transition from homelessness.
Room In The Inn (RITI)
Every Saturday night, December through March, we hosts 14 of our homeless neighbors: men, women, children and/or families. Volunteers set up and make beds, drive the church van with our neighbors to and from the Urban Ministry Center, make/serve/share an evening meal, serve as overnight hosts, make sack lunches and provide hospitality for those who have no place to call home. Volunteer for Room In The Inn Family Promise | Charlotte Family Housing

Families reside in Hawthorne Place, located in St. John’s Baptist Church on Hawthorne Lane. Outreach opportunities include preparing meals and serving as overnight hosts. In 2018, MPBC will volunteer July 22-26, October 7-11, and December 16-20.
