DR. OPHELIA GARMON-BROWN talks about the power of words to drag us down or lift us up. In the New Testament book of Matthew, Peter asks Jesus to command him to do the miraculous. Peter needed to be told. He needed to hear the words.
Peter has faith in Jesus — enough to walk on water — until a storm comes up. Dr. Garmon-Brown reminds us that Jesus is always with us in our most dangerous waters, asking us to trust him. When we have faith, the storms of life cannot cause us to sink.
