Environmental Justice honors Sofia Bartholomew with scholarship
Early this year, Interfaith Power and Light named MPBC a "Cool Congregation" and awarded our Environmental Justice group $500. The EJ Affinity Group has now unanimously voted to pass these funds on to Sofia Bartholomew as a college scholarship.
Sofia plays a critical role in our success, from participating in all Hidden Valley Community Garden efforts and now leading the youth effort at the MPBC garden, to facilitating our climate book study, playing a major role in Creation Justice Sunday, offering numerous creative ideas, and more.
As a Queens University Environmental Studies major, we have no doubt our EJ Affinity Group will develop a strong partnership with the Queens Environmental student group. Congratulations Sofia and thank you for choosing our neighbor, Queens!
