“Where two or more are gathered there I will be.” Matthew 18:20
“Here we are, you and I, and I hope that Christ makes a third with us. No one can interrupt us now. . . . So come now, dearest friend, reveal your heart and speak your mind.” (p. 29) ~ Aelred of Rievaulx, Spiritual Friendship
When we take time to consider what it means to have the space to reveal our hearts and speak our minds, we might realize that there are few spaces in our lives where we can experience this. With the world becoming more disconnected and divided, we need a space where we can gather for the purpose of finding our common life. The forming of our Common Life Groups will hopefully bring this space into your life. As we have been dreaming and planning, we have imagined a group where real conversation around real life can happen.
Beginning on March 13, you will have the opportunity to participate in a Common Life Group as a Lenten Practice. The flow for each group will be as follows: check in from each person, centering thought, then conversation around how we experience faith in our everyday life. There will be two groups on Wednesday evenings; one will meet from 5:15 – 6:15p and the other from 7:00 – 8:00p. Registration is now open through myMPBC.
