No one should have to sleep on the streets, and no one should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from. However, this is a reality for more than 7,000 people in the city of Charlotte – many of them with full-time jobs — who find themselves without a stable place to live the majority of the year.
Join us as we host these neighbors for a meal and night of shelter with Room In The Inn.
Room In The Inn (RITI)
Every Saturday night, December through March, we host 14 of our homeless neighbors: men, women, children and/or families. Volunteers set up and make beds, drive the church van with our neighbors to and from the Urban Ministry Center, make/serve/share an evening meal, serve as overnight hosts, make sack lunches and provide hospitality for those who have no place to call home.
We have added another night each week!
The need has grown, so we are now offering housing on Monday nights too. If you can help, please sign up using the button below.
The program offers a unique way for people of faith to become directly involved with individuals who are homeless. The basic goal is to keep homeless people from freezing on cold winter nights. A greater goal is to provide a more personal relationship to homeless people, at least for a night, and to foster a deeper understanding of the depth and complexity of the issue.
