Register for the Awakening The Body Pilgrimage
Did you know that studies show when a human holds a handful of soil, the brain creates endorphins? Creation has so much to teach us.
As we have awakened to learning about our bodies and emotional and spiritual ways to engage with them, we must also think about what we put into them. This starts with the very basics of food. Is what we are putting into our bodies really good for us? How can we think about the way we engage with our food? What effect does GMO-infused fruit actually have on us? How do we come together around the table and engage in life-giving conversations?
This summer, we have the opportunity to explore these questions and more as we venture out on another pilgrimage together. We will visit Chestnut Ridge Farm and work with a resource called “Eating Together Faithfully,” which will guide us through what it means to care for our bodies, each other, and creation. We will practice eating faithfully as we eat thoughtful meals together at each farm.
We also will have the opportunity to work alongside each other on sustainable farms right here in North Carolina and actively participate in creation care. This work will not only lead us closer to creation, but also to our Creator. In addition to Chestnut Ridge, we will visit Anatoch Farm, Reverence Farm, and others.
It is our hope that you will join us on this adventure and open yourself up to the lessons that nature will reveal to us all.
The cost is $200 per person and covers transportation, lodge-style accommodations, activities, and most meals. Space is limited, so register now online or by contacting Caroline Manning. Limited scholarships are available, contact Katie Hambrick.
