This Sunday

On Sunday May 5, 2024
Speaker | Rev. Dr. Ben Boswell
Location | Shalom Hall
Topic | Christianity After Religion—a Short Book Study

Diana Butler Bass is among the top tier of public theologians today, and one of the hardest working. Her prolific output of books over the past 25 years is impressive not only for the quantity of titles she has produced but for the quality of those books. She is also a noted historian of the church, and also a very effective public speaker. She has the gift of making complex ideas accessible to laypersons—whether reading her books or listening to her give a talk on a present-day topic. She frequently travels to conferences, churches, and other places to lead events in North America and Europe and is a much-in-demand retreat and conference leader.

I have had the good fortune to meet her at several Wild Goose Festivals in North Carolina over the past ten years. And what sets her apart from some other super-accomplished individuals is that she is without pretense or egotistical self-importance and is one of the most down-to-earth and approachable spiritual leaders I’ve ever met.

Please join us this Sunday as Rev. Dr. Ben Boswell leads a presentation with slides and insights, and a stimulating synopsis of this book that takes a look at where the future of the Christian faith may be headed. All are welcome.
